Aallon Maja is located in Sunila, 12 km from the City of Kotka (only a few kilometers to the east over the sea) and four km from Karhula shopping center to the south. Helsiki is at the distance of 135 km, Hamina 20 km and Vaalimaa (border to Russland) only 60 km. You will find the hostel here - www.keltaisetsivut.fi. Please, select "Reittihaku", type there "Kotka, Valliniemenkatu 2" and click then. If you travel by bus, please take line 5B or 6B in Karhula.
The famous house called Aallon Maja, designed by Alvar Aalto in Sunila area, Kotka Finland, will start living again. We are building there an information stand, a permanent show room for Alvar Aalto,s architecture, and changing exhibition halls for different kind of arts, performances, concerts etc. with full services of Cafe Aino. The building is also suitable for small scale seminars, meetings, happenings and events etc. because there is a 12-14 rooms (up to 50 beds) hotel with two saunas in the second floor.
Aallon Maja has very low prices for short and long visits. You can live there like in your home. Most rooms have 3 - 4 beds, but wc and shower rooms are common. There are two rooms with their own wc and shower, too. Two saunas, a self service kitchen, cafe automat, three dining halls in the corridore, TV in your bedroom - what else do you need! Yes, we do have ADSL- and WLAN-connections to Internet. |
